Fleckney Table Tennis Club is settling into its temporary home at the main hall of Kibworth Mead Academy. We were gratified to see that the team which beat us in the semi-final of the Elbow Tankard went on to win the top prize. We wish all our junior and senior League players good luck for the coming season.

The monthly parish council meeting was held on 2 September at 7pm in the Studio at the Kibworth Community Hub. Mrs. Lynne Beesley-Reynolds was co-opted to fill the vacancy on the parish council.

We remain busy at The Hub, and things are already gearing up for Christmas. The new kitchen is fully up and running and most of our users are very happy with it. The new stainless steel units certainly make it more hygienic and easier to keep clean.

Smeeton Westerby Parish Council has appointed LB Planning to advise on the controversial planning application 25/00793/OUT. In a recent letter to Harborough District Council, LB Planning highlighted a serious issue with the Site Location Plan.

During the summer we enjoyed an entertaining talk about Rockingham Castle and a mouth-watering demonstration of creating beautiful chocolate items. In August we celebrated our 107th birthday with a meal and quizzes.

Illston-on-the-Hill WI - Oct '25

Illston-on-the-Hill WI had that excited ‘back to school’ feeling at their September meeting. Almost all members were able to be present. After the usual short business meeting, we were entertained by our speaker for the evening, Chris Knight. His presentation was titled ‘Auntie, the war is over’.
