A campaign has recently been launched: ‘Ringing Remembers'.It is being run by the Department of Communities and Local Government in collaboration with the Central Council of Church Bellringers and marks the final year of the First World War centenary commemorations.
The aim is to recruit 1,400 new or lapsed bellringers. This number is the same as the church bellringers who were killed in action during the 1914-1918 war.
There are 6,000 churches in England with bells to ring; of those, several hundred have fallen silent for lack of ringers. A welcome is there in every tower to new ringers whether you live in Kibworth or the surrounding villages. Why not contact your local church and find out more?
