Norton and Gaulby Young Farmers Club are based in south Leicestershire and are heavily involved in the local community. This year the club was proud to have celebrated its 75th anniversary, with the club’s origins extending as far back as 1942.
We also worked incredibly hard and won the rally championship this year, which was held earlier in the summer, something that the club has never achieved in its 75th history!
The club is run by its members aged 10 to 26 years old, and although based around the rural community, is not exclusively for farmers! It strongly stands by the saying ‘you don’t have to be a farmer to be a young farmer!’ Norton and Gaulby has weekly meetings, held on a Tuesday evening, which involve a wide range of activities, including guest speakers, farm tours, sports competitions, parties, and of course, they usually end in a catch up afterwards in the local pub!
Norton and Gaulby are committed to seeing it through a further 75 years, and are extremely keen to get more people involved in the club.
We are a friendly club, always looking for new members. If you would like more information, then please visit our Facebook page or call our chairman Jack Jones on 07704 980247.
