Born in 2014 by two lifelong friends, Mon Amie (French for ‘my friend’) are specialists in floral design - creating flowers for weddings, events and funerals, as well as offering unique bunches of seasonal flowers to order every Friday as part of their aptly named Flower Friday service.
Floral design also extends to the teaching of floristry and other related courses and workshops which have previously been held in local village halls. Last December Mon Amie welcomed 160 women on their Door Décor Christmas wreath making courses - the success and demand for which grows every year.
Mon Amie has also branched into homeware and accessories with the creation of their cross back apron which is now available in a beautiful range of colours and fabrics including those by Annie Sloan, the internationally renowned interior design and paint colour specialist.
Now based in their new HQ and home in Kibworth, the Mon Amie duo have a whole host of new courses and ideas lined up for anyone feeling creative. Their new space allows them to welcome other course leaders to The Barn also, with workshops already lined up in leather working and garden sculpture weaving, there really is something for everyone.
The space is also available for hire by others too; interest so far has been from photographers, Pilates teachers and for book group gatherings. The Barn really is a village space with so much potential and the willingness of Mon Amie to make it a space for everyone.
Louise and Julie also run the very successful Ladies Who Love To Shop event each year in November and new for this year is also an artisan event ‘The Makers Market’ on Saturday 5 May both at Kibworth Grammar School Hall.
