Foxton School News
Children from the school have been involved in lots of different events with our partnership schools including a music concert, spelling bee, Japanese experience day and a global debate in the council chamber at County Hall. There are sporting competitions this term including a swimming gala, ultimate frisbee and athletics.
Our fun run around the field for Sports Relief and Cancer Research raised a magnificent £428.50. Thank you to all the sponsors and donators.
As part of our commitment to bring learning to life trips and experiences have been organised: Fox Cubs have already been to West Lodge Farm Park and have had Ashtree Vets talk to them; Years 1 and 2 are going to the Space Centre and to Foxton Locks; Years 3 and 4 are going to De Montfort Hall to perform on their djembe drums, New Walk Museum and are having a Rainforest Roadshow; Years 5 and 6 are off to the Warning Zone – Life Skills Centre and having a Play in a Day visit about energy saving.
This year heralds the return of the Foxton Fun Day on Saturday 1 September (noon-4pm), which will be held at Foxton Primary School, and jointly run by the School and the Harborough Lions Club. We will have live music, BBQ, bar, raffle, a maypole, games, stalls, kids activities, a real fire engine, story corner with author Jane Clarke, tombola, tug o' war, kids’ fancy dress competition, a dog show, and much more! All proceeds will go towards the refurbishment of our school hall and local charities supported by the Harborough Lions Club. We hope you can come along and enjoy a great day out for all the family, whilst also raising money for good causes.
