A huge thanks for all the support from the community for our amazing Golden Fete. All funds raised will help continue to fund our Library.


Summer’s here, yes its official! Our Summer Reading Challenge runs from 7 July till 8 September and this year's theme is Mischief Makers and features ‘The Beano’ and Dennis the Menace. Watch out for more information on our website.


We celebrate Kibworth Women’s Institute Centenary Anniversary Week, Monday 18 June to Saturday 23 June. There will be a wonderful display of the history of the W.I. in the Library plus of course free cream teas during the week. Please check our website for days and times.


It’s all happening on Wednesday 27 June at the Library! First of all, prolific author Steve Bowkett celebrates National Writing Day with tips, techniques and advice for budding authors – drop in from 2pm, followed by Kibworth Book Fest event with world-renowned authors Lisa Jewell and Ruth Ware at 7.30pm.  All tickets are on sale at Kibworth Bookshop.

  • Children’s Chess Club every Monday 4.45 - 5.30pm is proving very popular.

  • Kibworth Reading Group 7-8pm. Next session Thursday 5 July, £2.50 including drink and biscuit.

  • Under 5’s Story and Rhyme Time every Friday 10 - 10.30am. This group is enjoyed by parents, carers, babies and toddlers and will continue through the summer.

  • Family History Group alternate Mondays 2 - 4pm.  This group will close over the summer holiday period and will restart on 10th September.  New and old members will be welcome.

  • French conversation – fortnightly on a Tuesday morning 10 – 11am. Next session 26 June, £5.00 including coffee or tea.

  • Knitting next session Monday 18 June afternoon 2 -4 pm. Why not join us at Kibworth Library for a chat and a knit. All welcome. £2 to include refreshments. 

Please note that the library will be closed from  2 - 4 July for our long awaited kitchen refurbishment.


Looking ahead, we have a book sale on Saturday 7 July, and Sian from Lloyds Chemist will be in the library on the morning of Friday 13 advising on summer skin and health care.
