Royal Wedding Flower Festival at St Wilfrid’s

Thank you to everyone who helped to make our Royal Wedding Flower Festival a wonderful success, from the flower arrangers to the bakers and helpers, it was a true community effort!

The festival was made possible by a bequest from a former parishioner, Linda Dickinson, whose niece Jan Turton wrote: We thought the flowers and displays in church were really lovely and we were so glad we had made the trip over from Norfolk to see them, and also to see all the things Aunty had made. We are convinced that the bequest was put to very good use, and are sure Aunty would have approved - and been very delighted with the result.

Around 80 people attended the live screening of the wedding itself, as well as several other visitors who came to view the Church before and after the ceremony and over the weekend. The Church looked absolutely amazing, and we have received so many wonderful comments about the incredibly high standard and creativity of all the displays; what a talented and enthusiastic community we live in!
