The Kibworth & District Chronicle is looking for voluntary help in taking the minutes at our monthly management meetings. These take place on a Monday evening currently at 6pm and usually last no more than an hour.

Burton Overy Dancers started its new, exciting programme on Wednesday 16 September. Our folk dance club enjoys a wide range of dance styles - English Country, Assembly Room (Playford), American Square & Contra. Think anything ranging from a Jane Austen Regency dance to a jolly jig.

It is pleasing to report that Naomi from Church Langton School came second in the Junior Section of the National final of the Young Artist Competition. She won an Amazon Voucher of £50, a plaque and a certificate of achievement. Her success was reported in Rotary’s National Magazine.

Five members of the Edmonds & Slatter team stepped out in support of LOROS Hospice raising more than £1,000 while completing the charity’s annual Twilight Walk through Leicester. Linda, Carol, Emily, Natasha and Amy joined thousands of supporters on Saturday 20 June for the 10K Glitter and Glow themed Twilight Walk, which started and finished at De Montfort University’s Vijay Patel Building and took participants through the heart of Leicester and around Victoria Park.

On a damp Thursday evening, sixteen of us visited the University of Leicester Botanic Garden. We enjoyed a very informative guided walk around some of the well-kept gardens. They are in an area covering 16 acres.

A Macmillan Coffee Morning is to take place on Saturday 26 September between 10am-2pm at Mowsley Village Hall, Main Street Mowsley, Lutterworth LE17 6NT. There will be a cake stall, tombola, hand- crafted wooden items, 3D printed items, hand-painted cards and prints, bring and buy, raffle and games.
