Kibworth Ladies Choir
On Saturday 6 April Kibworth Ladies Choir and Wigston & District Male Voice Choir joined forces to put on a concert at Wigston College in aid of their chosen charities. Both choirs performed their own repertoire but also performed two songs together. This was a first for both choirs and Kibworth Ladies Choir have sung with other choirs before, they have never sung with a 60 strong male voice choir!
It was very special as there were family connections between the two choirs. My mother in law, Irene, has been a KLC member since it started - over 7 years ago - and my father in law, Don, has sung with the Wigston Male Voice Choir for over 25 years! Michelle Seabrook, a member of KLC has father in law, Ivor, who sings in the male voice choir.
Both choirs spent a few months rehearsing for this big event but only managed to sneak in an hour rehearsal with some of the men a week before’the night’.
A fantastic evening and enjoyed by everyone involved and we hope to do the same again next year! Thanks to the Coach & Horses for quenching our thirst after all that singing!
Kibworth Ladies Choir raised a total of £1,200 from ticket sales and donations for the Teenage Cancer Trust - a charity that is currently supporting Tom, the son of one our former members. We are proud to say that we have raised over £25,000 for various charities in the seven years we have been singing and we look forward to raising even more over the coming years!
Thank you to everyone who continues to support us and, if you feel like joining, please give me a call - you will be welcomed with open arms by our wonderful choir family.
