Well, the season is under way at KCC and the temperature has dropped by at least 10 degrees from those balmy Easter days.
Our men’s Saturday sides have had a mixed start this season but last Saturday 4 May saw all four teams winning their league games. The first team have progressed in both the Leicestershire T20 and the National Knockout cup competitions and will play at Papplewick (Notts) in the second round of the latter on Sunday 12 May.
By contrast our women’s team has already won two trophies and pictured below is Ali Wall and the team with the East Midlands Regional Indoor trophy. Women’s and girls’ cricket is a major focus for us this year and if anyone wants to join in the fun we have dedicated coaching sessions on Monday evenings. Please email Aliemail@example.com for more details.
On Sunday 16 June we will be hosting a T20 game between West Indies Women and England Women’s Academy - the ECB have yet to confirm start times so watch out for more details on the club’s website www.kibworthcc.co.uk.
Our Junior Section is also up and running with coaching sessions on Friday evenings for Under 13 and Under 15 players and on Sunday mornings for younger cricketers. For those wanting to take up cricket for the first time and aged 5-8 our All Stars Cricket programme will began on Sunday 12 May. Registration is online but couldn’t be easier just search All Stars cricket and enter your details.
For those who would rather sit in the sun and enjoy a relaxing drink there is a place for you at KCC. We welcome social members to our family friendly club and if you are new to the village just pop along to the ground on a Friday night or over the weekend to see what we have to offer.
