The Well
After running a volunteer recruitment campaign over the last couple of months, we’ve taken on a few more people to work in our café. This means we can finally extend our opening hours, which is great.
Hot food served until 2pm
From Monday 4 April, we are open from 10am Monday to Friday. On Mondays we will continue to close at 1pm, as the café is set aside for community activities. From Tuesday to Friday, our pre-loved clothes’ shop and café will be open until 4pm, with hot food served up until 2pm. You can now pop in after the school run or meet up with a friend for tea and cake in the afternoon. If the weather is fine, you can sit out in our garden, which has been spruced up in preparation for warmer weather and is a little suntrap.
Having a clear out?
We hope that the new hours will make us more accessible, and allow us to welcome more people into The Well, both our faithful regulars and lots of first timers. We can’t wait to see you. With the brief spell of warm weather we had a couple of weeks ago, did you break out your summer clothes? If you realised that you needed to have a bit of clear out, we would love to take your good quality
pre-loved clothes and accessories. Donations can be dropped off at our shop anytime during opening hours.
We now have two more drop-in sessions up and running in our café on the third Thursday of each month, when we will be joined by staff from Helping Hands. This is a local charity which helps anyone whose life is in crisis. It provides a free advice service on Welfare Benefits, Debts, Housing, Employment, Family Law and much more. Mental health support is also provided to those who need it. www.helpinghandsadvice.co.uk
On the fourth Monday of the month, we have Voluntary Action South Leicestershire (VASL) with us providing a drop-in focusing on all things wellness and wellbeing. Their team will be on hand to provide advice and support to anyone that asks for it. www.vasl.org.uk
