Local foodbank receives a Maundy donation
The Welcome Kitchen had very successful two eight-week residencies at Kibworth Grammar School Hall – eight weeks prior to Christmas and eight weeks following the New Year. The Welcome Kitchen team were very pleased to hand over a donation of £650 to The Well foodbank on Maundy Thursday.
Maundy signifies the washing of the feet of the poor, especially commemorating Jesus’s washing his disciples feet on this day following the Last Supper. The washing of feet being a sign of hospitality of welcoming and care and a public act of humility.
