How can it be May already? It doesn’t feel like we’ve seen much sunny spring weather yet, or is it just me?

New Services

This month has seen us launch two new services for residents.

  • A Wellness Walking Group
  • Housing Advice ‘Drop-In’ Service

Wellness Walking Group

Did you know exercise is great for improving your mental and physical health and wellbeing?

On the first Thursday of each month, you can join our new walking group. Run by Cross Counties PCN, the group starts at The Well and takes a gentle walk in the local area for an hour or so. It’s open to anyone of any ability, aged 18 or over.

After the walk, the group return to The Well for a chat over a cup of tea. Where you can find out what services are available from your local GP Surgery to help improve your health and wellbeing. The Group is very friendly and is keen to welcome new participants.

The walks are completely FREE, so why not come along to the next one?

The Bridge Housing Advice Drop-In Service

Our other new service is in partnership with The Bridge (East Midlands), offering a FREE housing advice ‘drop-in.’ The Bridge delivers several specialist housing related advice, support, assistance services and accommodation options to homeless and vulnerably housed people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The Bridge has been working for the community since 1993.

They can provide advice on a whole range of issues.

  • relationship breakdown
  • homelessness
  • housing options
  • housing waiting lists
  • transfers and exchanges
  • notices and court action
  • rent and mortgage arrears
  • illegal eviction
  • succession and assignment
  • deposits
  • housing disrepair
  • housing benefit
  • accessing hardship funds
  • anti-social behavior
  • neighbour disputes
  • harassment

Simply pop into our Café on a Thursday afternoon between 1pm – 4pm & speak to Rachael, their Housing Triage Worker.
