Kibworth Golf – Flying High in the County
The County Club Championships were held at Birstall in May. Six ladies played in the competition representing Kibworth Golf Club. Jane Thorpe had a stunning round with a Nett 68 winning the Vincent Trophy in the Bronze division. Jane took up golf in 2016 and has truly got the bug, indeed in the last three weeks her handicap has been reduced by 8 shots to 21 after winning several club competitions at Kibworth.
The Men’s and Ladies sections are both perforning well in their Scratch Matches too, posting several wins over the last few weeks. In fact the Ladies are at the top of Division 1 which is no mean feat!
Kibworth junior Emily Wolverson won the runners up prize for the County Flag 50 at Scraptoft. Emily reached the 9th green and finished the hole with her 51st shot – a great achievement.
