Bereavement Support in the Community
Helping people cope
Coming to terms with loss and adjusting to life without someone can be a daunting and difficult task. As part of our ongoing bereavement care, E.C. Gilbert Ltd, Funeral Directors, hope to help people cope with overwhelming feelings, including loneliness or isolation and assist the people in our community in rebuilding their lives.
Trained bereavement counsellor Jane Humphries is joining with us to host and facilitate a support group for anyone that has suffered a loss.
Jane recalled a comment made by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II “Grief is a passage, not a place to stay”. Coming together with others who have shared a common experience and building mutual support can help ease that passage, if only to ease the feeling of being alone with grief.
Free of Charge
The bereavement support sessions are free of charge, with parking and refreshments provided and take place at our sister premises A.J. Adkinson & Son, Funeral Directors, 12 London Road, Oadby, LE2 5DG on the second Tuesday of every month at 10am.
Anyone who has suffered a loss is warmly welcome and there is no requirement to book, just come along and you will be made most welcome.
