Kibworth Community Library – Oct 23
‘I watch the birds fly south across the autumn sky, and one by one they disappear. I wish that I was flying with them, now you’re not here’ –
Jeff Wayne (Forever Autumn)
Jeff Wayne wrote the melody for Forever Autumn in 1969 as a jingle for a Lego commercial. Whether or not that particular advert was a success Lego is still as popular as ever (with all age groups). The name is derived from two Danish words, leg and godt, which mean play well, something Lego does perfectly. Tiny plastic bricks that can literally build worlds!
On Saturday 14 October we will have tons of Lego for sale alongside books in our monthly sale. There will be plenty of sets and mini figures available at bargain prices. Doors open at 10am till 12pm.
If you don’t make the sale, there is always our Lego Club on the second and forth Sundays of the month. The next one is on Sunday 22 October from 10 – 11am. It’s fun for all the family.
As the days shorten and it gets colder, we are very happy to offer free hot drinks once again to anyone who comes into the library. You don’t even have to be a member (but it is free to join, borrow books and use the computers!). You can sit and chat, or pick up a book to read, but please know that you are very welcome.
Adventures in the Wild – John Beatty
Don’t forget that we have John Beatty, international nature traveller and photographer, giving a talk on the evening of Wednesday 8 November, in Kibworth Grammar School Hall. In his latest talk ‘Adventures in the Wild’ he shares his most recent images and stories from across the globe. Tickets are £8 and available from the library and also online from ticketsource.co.uk/Kibworth-community-library
