School Road Chapel News
As Christmas begins to draw near and we are looking ahead to our celebrations. Our TV Screens and Newspapers appear filled with nothing but news about the wars between Ukraine and Russia and Israel and Gaza. Do you sometimes despair and wonder what you can possibly say or do?
We would like to start by sharing with you the words of a modern hymn:
Faithless One, so unchanging, Ageless One, you’re my rock of peace. Lord of all I depend on you, I call out to you again and again. You are my rock in times of trouble. You lift me up when I fall down. All through the storm your love is the anchor, My hope is in you alone.
Brian Doerksen
Let us pray for ourselves and for this world. May God keep us in his love, and bless us with peace and joy in the midst of all the troubles that life brings. Amen.
‘What if God was one of us?’ is the title of ‘SPACE’, at 5.00pm on 3 December.
Roger Garratt
Many residents will remember Roger from his decades living in Kibworth. His time teaching in the Village, serving on the Parish Council, and editing the Chronicle. He currently resides in the MHA Aigburth Care Home at 21 Manor Road, Oadby. Roger would welcome visitors who would like to share their memories with him.
Live on your own? Feel lonely sometimes?
Why not call in for a Coffee at ‘The Well’ in Kibworth High Street. It is open every week on Monday morning and all day on Tuesday to Friday. There is always someone ready to chat with you.
From the Church Minute Book (1915)
“It was suggested that a Lady Deaconess be appointed to Kibworth, but, the Kibworth people did not think a Lady Missioner at all suitable”. How things have changed!!
Christmas Cards
Next month all homes throughout Kibworth will receive a joint Christmas card from St Wilfrid’s Church and ourselves through their doors. This greeting from the churches originally started in 1983.
