Kibworth Band – Dec 2023
It was good to see so many of the uniformed groups following the Band and attending the Remembrance Day service. Shame about the weather, but it did not diminish the turnout.
Alas our result at the LBBA contest was a little disappointing. The Band had worked very hard with quite a few extra rehearsals and played extremely well. Some of the audience had us in the prizes but not so the adjudicator who placed us sixth.
Our attention now turns to Christmas and by the time the Chronicle goes to print we will have been present at the lighting of Christmas trees in Kibworth Harcourt and the Coach and Horses, been present for Kibworth late shopping and entertained the members of Scraptoft Golf Club. This just leaves a trip to Burbage for the lighting of their Christmas tree and, of course our own Christmas Concert with the members of our Youth Group at the Old Grammar School Hall on 16 December. We are pleased to say that the concert is a sell out and our thanks go to Sam from the Band and the staff and supporters of The Well for their help in promoting this.
All that remains then is to wish the readers of the Chronicle a very happy Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous 2024.
