Foxton Community Choir
Foxton Choir is really pleased to announce that we will be singing Christmas carols in the village this year but not quite as usual. Rather than the Choir coming to your front door, this time we hope that we can tempt you to leave your snug front rooms, wrap up warm and join us to sing some of your favourite carols, as well as some other lovely festive songs that you may not be quite so familiar with.
We will be carol singing for about 20 minutes in three different locations in the village on Thursday 17 December. The details are as follows but there will be posters round the village to remind you:
- 6.30pm – junction of Swedish Close and Swingbridge Street
- 7.00pm – Robert Monk Hall car park
- 7.30pm – in front of Foxton Church
We’re keeping fingers crossed that it will be a lovely crisp evening for sharing some Christmas cheer with you. Until then the Choir are continuing to rehearse through Zoom and if all goes well at the end of lockdown, for a couple of weeks in Foxton Church.
The Choir is also hoping to be singing carols in the recreation ground as part of the Christmas in Foxton celebrations. Look out for posters in early December with more details.
It’s amazing that despite this difficult year the Choir has managed to keep singing together. Either via technology or when rules have allowed in the Church or recreation ground. We are now beginning to turn our thoughts to 2021 and performing together once more. If you love music and enjoy singing then what about joining us? We sing a wide range of music from Abba to Handel and everything in between. It’s great fun and you don’t need to read music. For more information call Adele Rogers on 07581 341957.
