Local projects receive share of over £20k
Kibworth Scout Group and Gumley Parish Meeting among them.
Harborough District Council agreed, on 7 December, to allocate funding of more than £20,000 to a number of worthwhile projects across the Harborough district aiming to boost community wellbeing.
The funding is from the Council’s Community Grant Fund for projects which help provide or improve outdoor facilities, sports or art equipment for young people, or improving environment.
Among the successful projects from around the Harborough DC was
- Kibworth Scout Group – £3,023.45 for a shed and portable outdoor equipment to enable group to continue with Covid-secure, face to face scouting.
- HDC Wellbeing/Everyone Active – £2,422.83 for a bicycle shelter and racks for Harborough Leisure Centre.
- Gumley Parish Meeting – £1,312 for tree safety work in Crow Spinney Ancient Woodland.
Councillor Simon Whelband, Harborough District Council’s Cabinet lead for communities and wellbeing, said: “I am delighted that we have once again been able to allocate a significant amount of money to some really positive local projects”.
