Kibworth Community Library – Mar ’24
“Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you.” – Frank Lloyd Wright
Living in Kibworth we are very fortunate to be in such a beautiful part of the country. We are surrounded by farmland, have streams and canals close by, and a wealth of nature reserves just a stone’s throw away. If we need time out or to be able to slow down, both mentally and physically, being in nature is perfect. It is the antidote to modern living and it heals the soul.
Upcoming Talks
We have two wonderful talks about nature coming soon to the library. On Tuesday 9 April the Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital will be with us to talk about all of the amazing work they do. They are dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of sick, orphaned, injured and distressed wild animals and birds. The range of creatures they deal with is astonishing. If you love nature, you will not want to miss this talk.
We are delighted to welcome The Chronicle’s very own Nature’s Notes author, David Scott, to Kibworth to tell us all about the fascinating life of birds. His articles each month demonstrate his depth of knowledge and passion for wildlife. We are very much looking forward to his talk entitled ‘Birds on the move’ – the distribution and migration of ‘British’ birds. David will be with us on Thursday 25 April.
For both of these talks, doors open at 1.45pm for a 2pm start. Tickets are on sale now in the library. They are £5 and include a delicious afternoon tea, baked by two of our volunteers.
We have a Book Sale on Saturday 13 April from 10am till 12pm. Great quality fiction plus reference, history, and food and drink books on offer.
