Kibworth Fire Station
As a crew, we always do our best to keep the local community safe and to provide support and education. We deliver this in a variety of ways. Identifying local risks and performing site visits to help mitigate against these issues. Providing targeted training sessions and carrying out home safety checks. Organising community safety events such as the tyre health checks and road safety event we hosted in the Co-Op car park last month.
We’ve also enjoyed a few evenings with 1st Kibworth Scout Group. Engaging the young people with exciting activities. Helping them to understand the dangers of fire and the importance of a fire escape plan. We have scheduled visits to several local nurseries and primary schools to educate the children on the basics of fire safety. In terms of operational response, Kibworth Station is always busy. Recently we have attended multiple road traffic collisions, fires in domestic and commercial properties, chimney fires, a large thatched roof fire, as well as some major incidents in Leicester city.
On-Call Firefighters
On-call firefighters play a vital part in Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service provision. Staff at Kibworth Fire Station are incredibly dedicated, always training so, when needed, we are ready and able to keep our people safe. Being on call can be a very demanding job, but it is also an incredibly rewarding one.
If you are looking for a way to make a difference in your community, becoming an on-call firefighter may be the answer. We are constantly on the lookout for new members to join our team.
