Smeeton Westerby Village Hall
News from Smeeton Westerby. On Saturday 16 March, we had a fabulous evening with Tony Harris performing as Winston Churchill. You would never have known that he had driven all the way from Hastings just to be with us. His knowledge, wit and acting skills made the evening so very enjoyable. Add to that the delicious supper, it was definitely an evening to remember. We can’t wait to invite him again.
Then came our two ‘Whodunnit Nights’ with the audiences having great fun trying to work out who the murderer was! However, in true Agatha Christie style they were sworn to secrecy. The show continues its very successful tour to Tur Langton and Medbourne on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 April.
Our Village Hall garden is now looking so appealing, thanks to the sterling work of local resident Stephen Benton. We have decided to hold a monthly coffee morning to show it off. We are calling it our CoCo morning – coffee and conversation! Actually, it is just an opportunity for anyone to come along and have a chat over tea, coffee, biscuits and cakes! Of course, if the weather isn’t very nice, we can always stay inside the hall. Our first CoCo morning will be on Wednesday 15 May, 10.30am-12.00 noon. Be sure to put that date in your diaries!
A variety of classes
Please also remember that we run a variety of classes in our hall. So if you want to get fit for the summer, ring Janet on 07950 409 610 for more details of what we offer. If you would like to book the hall for a party, etc. our bookings officer will be able to help you on 07808 469 916.
And finally, but certainly not least, our new Prayer Ministry and Healing group has started on Sundays between 5-6pm. It is a very special time and open to everyone. For more details, please contact Brian on 07882 511 280
