Kibworth & Fleckney Rotary Club May 24
Following the success of the Leicester Comedy Festival Event in February at the Kibworth Community Hub, the Kibworth & Fleckney Rotary Club was able to donate over £1500 to the Leicester Musical Memory Box (LMMB).
Leader of LMMB, Kyle Newman, visited the Rotary Club on 30 April and gave the club an update on the expansion of their group.
LMMB are a not-for-profit organisation, delivering and facilitating interactive music based sessions. Singing, music, discussion and gentle seated exercises are all used within the sessions to stimulate memories and promote wellbeing, whilst reducing isolation.
Kyle says, “The money raised will support a cinema afternoon, carol services and some printing, which will benefit everyone who attends LMMB and the two groups in the Harborough district.”
A local venue is the Harborough Theatre lounge, Church Square, Market Harborough, LE16 7NB. Every third Thursday 2pm-3.30pm.
The group session held in the central town venue of the Harborough Theatre, will complement the Dementia Harborough Charity’s monthly ‘Music for Memories’ group that Kyle also leads, offering the Harborough area a group meeting twice a month.

The Rotary Club have been keen supporters of LMMB and are hugely impressed with the great work that Kyle, Christina Birkby and her team of volunteers have done over the last few years. You too can donate to this very worthy cause on their website and also spread the word about what they do, so that as many folk as possible can benefit from the uplifting experience they provide.
