St Wilfrid’s

Summer at the Kibworth Benefice Churches

Join us this summer for services to suit everyone, from traditional communion to family-friendly.

Our popular ‘9.30 Express’ will be in action at St Wilfrid’s on 7 July, 4 August and 1 September. You can expect lots of fun and worship for the young, old and everyone in between! Breakfast follows afterwards in the hall so why not give it a try?

We continue to live-stream our weekly 10.30am services at St Wilfrid’s, they can be found on YouTube at ‘St Wilfrid’s Media’. For our full schedule of services at Kibworth, Saddington and Smeeton Westerby, please visit www.stwilfridskibworth.co.uk.

175th Anniversary

Smeeton Westerby is approaching the 175th anniversary of the consecration of Christ Church, Smeeton Westerby, by the Bishop of Peterborough on 31 August 1849. We are planning to celebrate this milestone on 1 September at our monthly Communion service which begins at 10am. Everyone is welcome.

Lunchstop’s Summer Break

Lunchstop has finished for the summer. Thanks to all of our visitors for your support, and to all of our hard-working volunteers who produce the delicious homemade lunches. Please note, due to volunteers’ holidays, we will return on 12 September, and thereafter on the first Thursday of the month from October. More helpers are always welcome! If you are interested in getting involved please do get in touch via the Church Office: wilfs.kibworth@gmail.com or call Tel:01162796577 (answerphone available).

Year 6 Visit to St Wilfrid’s

We had a fantastic response from Kibworth Primary School’s Year Six students to an event on 23 May to encourage them in their faith as they move on from a Church of England school with Christian values at its core. They began with a rousing song and heard about the surprising life, before ordination, experienced by our Rector, Ludger. We finished the afternoon with some ‘spiritual training’. As a church community we were very encouraged by the children’s incredible thoughts and responses. We look forward to welcoming them to their Leavers’ Service on 4 July. We will continue to pray for them as they move on to their secondary schools.

‘Tiny Capers’ Concert

A big thank you to everyone who supported the ‘Tiny Capers’ concert on 1 June organised by The Friends of St Wilfrid’s, who also provided delicious cream teas. It was a wonderful afternoon of music and every seat was taken!

The money raised will help to repair the church roof and hopefully stop the rain from getting in!

We wish everyone a wonderful summer, and look forward to seeing you soon.
