End of Season Success at Kibworth Golf Club
Massive congratulations go to two of our juniors, Noah and Evan, after an amazing season on the Robert Rock Junior Tour. Consequently, they have earned qualification to The Champion of Champions World Championship in Ireland in 2025 and also the Faldo Series Entry for Dubai in November.
The 2024 British Clubs’ Mixed Championship Finals took place at the end of September at the prestigious Celtic Manor Resort in Wales. It is renowned for hosting the 2010 Ryder Cup. This year, 120 clubs from around the UK entered the competition with KGC making it to the finals. These were held on the challenging Montgomery course. Regional champions from across the UK competed. The ultimate winner earned the coveted title of National Golf Club Team Champions.
The event followed a unique two day format, with both individual and team rounds contributing to the overall score. Success in the qualifiers led the team to the finals. It was a tight match and the team narrowly lost three-two. Then, play on day two was for third / fourth place. KGC won three-two which resulted in third place overall. Despite the disappointment of the team this was still regarded as a great achievement.
