Kibworth Community Library – Oct ’24
“As long as autumn lasts, I shall not have hands, canvas or colours enough to paint the beautiful things I see”
Vincent Van Gogh
Autumn is a time to take in and appreciate the wonder of our world; the golds, yellows and reds of falling leaves, that special golden light you only seem to find at this time of the year. Furthermore, autumn even has its own distinctive scent of fog and fallen leaves.
A Celebration of Nature and Adventure
We have two events coming soon that celebrate our world but in very different ways. The first is a return to Kibworth by John Beatty for his ‘Adventures in the Wild 2’ talk on Wednesday 13 November, with captivating stories from all around the globe.
The second is closer to home. Susie Pasley-Tyler, the owner and gardener-in-chief of Coton Manor Gardens in Northamptonshire is coming to give a talk on Thursday 28 November. Susie and her husband Ian inherited the manor thirty years ago and Susie’s passion for gardening grew. As a result, the gardens were voted ‘The Nation’s Favourite Garden’ in 2019. ’Gardening with Colour at Coton Manor’ starts at 2pm, doors open at 1.45pm. Tickets are £6 and include a delicious afternoon tea.
Community Engagement
Before either of these events, we are delighted to welcome Andy Wright from The Well to talk to us about everything they do in the community. This event is on Thursday 7 November at 2pm, doors open at 1.45pm. Tickets are £6 and include a delicious afternoon tea. All proceeds from this event are being divided between The Well and the Library so please come along.
Additionally, November’s Book Sale is on Saturday 9 from 10am till 12pm and will be full of great bargains as well as a few early Christmas treats. Don’t forget that we always have our author book bundles on offer for only £2.
