Kibworth u3a PhotoTrail – Nov ’24

For two weeks in October photographs adorned 20 windows and noticeboards of Kibworth.

Members of the local u3a took images celebrating the people and places of Kibworth. A small project team then arranged for these to be placed in strategic locations in both villages.

Steve Brown, a well known local figure, contemplating “Keeping Kibworth Tidy”, a photograph of him at work.

Most businesses that we approached were keen to support the initiative and volunteered to display the framed photographs in their windows.

St Wilfrid’s church and the Community Library offered their noticeboards. One private residence even featured a picture in their lounge window.

The local u3a funded the initiative, with help from on the edge, a Market Harborough based  business who printed the photographs. The initiative was also supported by the Kibworth & District Chronicle who helped publicise the Trail.

Whilst the PhotoTrail has now officially ended, all 20 pictures are now available to view online.

The u3a is an international movement whose aims are the education and stimulation of mainly retired members of the community. The Kibworth and District branch offers over 30 ‘interest groups’ and new members are always welcome. So, if you are no longer in full time employment, or know of somebody who is looking to broaden their horizons then get in touch by contacting membership secretary Jill at membershipsec.kibworthu3a@gmail.com.
