Christmas message from the Churches of Kibworth – December 2024
Christmas is a time for excitement and celebration, and the joy of family and friends. It also brings pressure and expectations; hustle and bustle. It can, for many people, be a painful time: of loneliness, poverty or homelessness. If we look closely at the stories of the birth of Jesus in the Bible, we can find all these things too. The Nativity story shows us that Jesus came into the real world – the world of our mess and grief. And yet people found God right there in the midst of it all, leading to thankfulness, joy and praise.
We pray that whatever your circumstances this Christmas, you may find God’s love and hope, and many blessings.Peace and joy to you from Kibworth Methodist Church.
Revd Andy Murphy
This Christmas season, we reflect on the surprising story of God becoming man in Jesus. Living among us, He shared our joys and sorrows, giving up everything to experience humanity fully. Tempted yet unwavering, He remained holy and obedient, becoming our mediator with the Father, interceding for us even now.
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in our communities.
May the Christmas story surprise you anew as you consider God with us, Emmanuel.
