Fundraising Frontiers Concert at St Wilfrid’s
We are delighted to announce a very special fundraising concert that will take place at St Wilfrid’s Church in Kibworth on Friday 28 February. Frontiers Trio features three superb professional musicians who live locally. They are David Le Page – violin, Mark Ashford – guitar, and Nick Stringfellow – cello.
David Le Page
He moved to Kibworth four years ago with his wife Catherine and their two children Ari and Jacob. Born on the Channel Island of Guernsey, David began playing the violin at the age of seven. He gained a place at the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin school aged twelve. He has since forged a varied career as a soloist, chamber musician, composer, arranger and recording artist. David is currently Artistic Director and Leader of the Orchestra of the Swan, a professional orchestra based in Warwick. Along with his wife Catherine – also a professional violinist – David runs the successful Harborough Concerts series, which began in 2010.
Mark Ashford
Mark Ashford, who lives in nearby Theddingworth, is a highly acclaimed guitarist. He frequently tours worldwide with his Vida Guitar Quartet.
Nick Stringfellow
Nick Stringfellow is the principal cellist of Orchestra of the Swan and Head of Lower Strings at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. He has lived in Market Harborough for almost fifteen years.
The concert will be a thrilling musical journey, taking in different countries and presenting a variety of fascinating musical flavours. You will hear popular works by Vivaldi, Paganini, Monti, Piazzolla, Albéniz and more. With styles ranging from baroque and classical to tango and flamenco.
This is a wonderful opportunity to experience world-class performers on your doorstep, in the beautiful surroundings of St Wilfrid’s church – a 13th century gem – and to raise much needed funds for its upkeep. We look forward to seeing you there!
The concert starts at 7pm. Tickets are £18 (children under 18 free) and can be purchased online at TicketSource.com or by calling 0116 279 2252, 0116 279 2543 or 07540 719 298.
