The Well’s Chatty Cafe

Who’s noticed the slightly lighter evenings and early spring bulbs starting to push their way out of the earth? A sign of the warmer days ahead…
Chatter & Natter

Did you know that The Well is part of the nationwide ‘Chatty Cafe’ scheme?
‘Chatter & Natter’ tables are where customers can sit if they are happy to talk to other customers. Hundreds of venues offer ‘Chatter & Natter’ tables, in cafes, pubs, libraries, hospitals – anywhere that people can sit and chat over a coffee.
The aim is to kick–start conversations, get people chatting and reduce loneliness along the way.

We have a group of volunteers that are just waiting for you to come along and have a friendly chat with them in our cafe at 45 High Street:
Monday morning – Roger.
Wednesday morning – Sue,
Wednesday afternoon – Jack.
Thursday morning – Clare
You’ll be able to spot them easily – just look for the bright yellow table sign.
You can also access a chat online or on the phone. They are always on the lookout for more chatty volunteers too.

Cash for Coins
It’s thought that we have hundreds of millions of pounds worth of foreign currency sitting at home in jars and buried in drawers. Not to mention all the pre-decimal and old domestic currency too.
Working with a specialised company, The Well can convert it into cash that will be used to support vulnerable people in our communities.
If you have currency (we can take notes too) that you’d like to donate, simply pop into our cafe where you’ll find a collection box

Food Bank Donations
Are you able to donate items to our food bank regularly? We’re always in need of essentials to restock the shelves so that we can support local people experiencing food poverty.
We have donation points in Kibworth Co-op, Kibworth Mead Academy and Kibworth Primary School. You can drop items off at any of those locations during their normal opening hours. To find out what we need, you can download an app on your phone called Bank the Food and find out what we need in ‘real-time’. You can also find a comprehensive list of donations points on the app outside of Kibworth which might be more convenient for you.
