CIAO for now!
Many of you will associate this ‘tag line’ with the wonderful Sarah Poli, and never has it been more apt than now, when Sarah and Lino announce that they will finally be closing the doors to Boboli’s.
There has been a general feeling of sadness at the loss of such a great restaurant, with food expertly cooked by Lino and his team, and front of house staff that always made you feel welcome, led of course by Sarah, a master of her craft.
Alongside this sadness has been a general outpouring of love for a family that have given so much to our village over the years. They have provided a venue for many special occasions in our lives, at Firenze, the Lighthouse and Bobolis, and entertained us with events such as the Big Boboli Festival. They also helped us through the pandemic with their pizzas and ‘heat to eat’ lasagne, alongside many other tasty options to tempt us when we were all feeling pretty fed up. And of course, there were Sarah’s videos which kept us entertained on a regular basis, Sarah’s smiling face and zest for life was addictive.
However, when you read Sarah and Lino’s goodbye letter, what you may notice is that nowhere do they mention about all the amazing support they have given to charities in our area. Whenever you went to a local fundraiser, there was always a Lighthouse/Bobolis voucher. Their kindness and generosity has been amazing and we would like to thank them for supporting so many good causes over the last 25 years.
So, it’s time to move on… we would like to wish Sarah and Lino all the love, luck and happiness they deserve in the next stage of their journey and we look forward to hearing about their exciting plans for the next 25 years!
