Kibworth Band
January and February are traditionally quiet times for the band with their thoughts and efforts concentrated on the Area Contest, which this year is back in the Civic Centre, Bedworth on Saturday 8 March.
Our results in this contest collated over a three year period are used to give us our official grading.
The area contests take place all over the country over a six to eight week period with bands in the fourth, third, second, first and championship sections playing to better or consolidate their gradings and for an invitation to the National Finals in Cheltenham in September.
Kibworth achieved this last year with a third place and are currently graded as first section. As the grading tables are based on a three-year rolling average and we are currently positioned near to the top of the table, unless we have a disaster we should see no real change in our position!
