Methodist Matters – Feb ’25

Rev Andy Murphy

Kibworth Methodist Church

From 1 March to 31 May 2025, Andy Murphy will be taking a Sabbatical and will therefore not be available. During this period Services will continue as usual, but anybody needing to contact a Minister for Baptisms, Marriages, Funerals or any other Pastoral Matters should initially speak with me (contact details below), one of the Church Stewards, or Claire Pickering (our Church and Community Chaplain).

Andy’s last service in Kibworth Church prior to his Sabbatical will be a Family Communion on 16 February at 10.30am. We will then be joining him for a Joint Service at Market Harborough Church (LE16 9HE) on 23 February at 10.30am. Free Parking is available in the Public Car Park opposite that church. There will be no service in this church on that Sunday.

Thoughts for the Day:

  1. God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say ‘Thank You’?
  2. If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say? And why are you waiting?
  3. Is the Bible the only book where the author is always present whenever it is read?
  4. If at first you don’t succeed – is skydiving not the ideal hobby?
  5. When you’ve lost something, and ask somebody else if they have seen it, why do they always say ‘Where did you leave it?’
  6. Why is the phrase ‘It’s none of my business’ always followed by ‘but…’?
  7. If you have an accident, you are entitled to an ambulance. If you have Cancer, you can call upon a doctor. So, if you are a sinner, should you not seek a Saviour?
