Have you ever thought of giving table tennis a go? Here at the Fleckney Spinners we take absolute beginners, adults and children. Our latest addition is 8-year old Seb Kaubi, who is as keen as mustard to get going on his TT journey.

At the time of writing, we are looking forward to the club tournament on April 9 with Danny Barker, Dylan Curry and new member, Harley Gibson, battling it out for the coveted Under11 trophy.

Coaching

Meantime, coaching continues every Monday night (6:45pm to 7:30pm for beginners, and 7:30pm to 8:15pm for others) with practice until 9:00pm. We have welcomed more adults too. The father and daughter combo of Chris and Jo Wright, as well as ex-league players Matt Tattershall and Aiden Smith. All of whom we hope will play in the Leicester League from September.

As the League season comes to an end, we are delighted to report continuing improvement with wins for our teams against several other clubs. Knighton Park’s 11th team was trounced by Andy Haddon, James Robertson and Bob Palmer. A splendid win against Nomads TT Club secured by Nathan Ogden, Narendra Shah and Jan Green, while Fleckney 4 narrowly lost to Syston TT Club with a brave showing from James Feakes and Omar Morsy. The season finished with a 5-all draw against Knighton Park 13. Including three close games for Lennon Devlin and a great effort in the doubles. “Well done,” to everyone who was in their first season this year.

We welcome all who want to give table tennis a go, and, as always, your first session is free. We are there every week apart from half-terms and Bank Holiday Mondays. For adults, Fleckney Sports Centre puts on a session on Thursday mornings from 9:30am to 11:00am.
