Twenty’s Plenty.
The Twenty’s Plenty notices, The hello yellow board Bedraggled, broken, sad, forlorn And generally ignored –
The Conservation area spoil,
Look permanently moored –
Whilst last July they made a point They don’t now strike a chord;
The temporary seems like permanent Where daily dirt is stored.
So those with power to act – don’t wait
Just shift them you’re implored;
Help Beauchamp’s Square and High Street get Their atmosphere restored.
It doesn’t encourage tidiness
For us in Kibworths’ ward.
And – just in case they are removed
Whilst Chronicle ink is poured.
A great big thanks – worth waiting for –
Road tidy – the reward .
And though we’ve not street criers now
Who their instructions roared.
Sure in this 21st century please
Street friendly ways afford.
P.S. I’ve noticed two big signs Bent, crunched up, weather gnawed Have gone ! A village resident ? Two disappeared, gone, floored !.
