Kibworth Golf Club Championship
The Men’s and Ladies’ Club Championship was well attended this year.
The Club Championship is open to any member whose handicap is 10 or below for the Men and 20 or below for the Ladies. The only other necessity is to have the stamina and concentration to play 36 holes in one day.
Green-keepers lead the way
Head Green-keeper, Martin Anderson won the event by posting a 66-73 total 139. Incidentally, the par of the course is 71 from the white tees which are the longest from the flag. Junior Captain, Sam Haynes- Coote was runner up with a 71-69 total 140. In the Ladies section, Corinne Boyd took the trophy with a gross 170 from the ladies red tees.
Club President Chris Palmer, held his President Day recently which was a great success and was won by Assistant Green-keeper Jamie Watson, posting a gross 66. Clearly our green-keepers have all of the course knowledge and use it to their advantage! The event was followed by a Hog Roast and music, and, after all of us being socially deprived for so long, it was great to see some wild moves on the dance floor! Suffice to say everyone had a great time.
