Main Street and Kibworth’s Theatre Companies combine
Well, you may be thinking, I have never seen that title in the Chronicle before. YoYou would be right, for both Great Glen’s Main Street and Kibworth’s Theatre Companies are amalgamating for their next show. So why is this you may be asking yourselves? The reason is that MSTC rehearse and practice in Great Glen Village Hall but this building is soon to be pulled down and rebuilt into a new community hub. The proposed building will house a brand new larger hall, the parish council offices and other community rooms. However, with the work planned to begin at the end of October or beginning of November, the drama society will have no base to rehearse and perform. So when a proposal was made to join with Kibworth, it seemed the perfect solution.
Both groups met up for an introductory evening when ideas for the next joint venture were aired. After taking everyone’s opinions and thoughts into account, it was decided to go with the comedy ‘‘Allo ‘Allo.’ Both groups have performed this show before, albeit many years ago, and both really enjoyed the experience. The show also drew large audiences to both venues, which we are all sure will happen again. This newly formed group will read through and audition for parts in November and then be looking to put the show on next May. What an exciting venture!
