Kibworth CE Primary School – Sport Roundup
Gymnastics County Finals
In March our year 5/6 gymnastics team represented the school and the Blaby and Harborough District at the County Finals. The standard of the competition was very high and our gymnasts had to face very strong opponents. Our girls performed brilliantly and we finished the day as bronze medallists. Well done Amelie, Emie-Rae, Natalia and Madison.
Year 3/4 Quicksticks Hockey
At the recent hockey tournament our Year 3/4 Kibworth team defeated every other team. From victories of 7-0 all the way to 10-2, they didn’t lose a single game. This means they are through to the finals!
Year 5/6 Quicksticks Hockey
The Year 5/6 team powered through their first four games with no trouble. It all came down to the final game but they won through to the next round. Well done to all of the team!
Division 1 Harborough District Football League
The Year 5/6 football match against St. Cuthberts gave 11 of our very talented boys a chance to show us why they deserve a spot in the team. Kibworth started the game very well with some great passing play, good movement and importantly everyone working for each other. The final score was 7-0 to us!
Girls’ Basketball
Some of our Year 6 girls were invited to a Girls’ Basketball Tournament organised by Leicester Warriors. It was the first ever competition for our girls’ team and they were all very excited. Despite the fact that they were the newbies, they managed to progress to the quarter finals and finished the day at a worthy 5th position.
Basketball County Finals
Our Year 5/6 basketball team had the privilege to play in the County Finals at the arena home of Leicester Riders. We all witnessed very high standards of basketball as our athletes displayed great skills, teamwork and sportsmanship. They finished in 5th place and are very proud to be one of the top teams in Leicestershire.
Year 3/4 Tag Rugby
The Harborough District Year 3/4 Tag Rugby competition took place on Thursday 4 April. With 16 teams competing, the atmosphere over shadowed the bitterly cold weather. Our team triumphed and claimed the trophy. Another sporting success!
