Great Night at the Rotary Club Bonfire and Fireworks
A huge crowd of 1,500 filled the field opposite the top of New Road, Kibworth. Yet again they witnessed a spectacular firework display from Hi5 Fireworks. “Better than last year” I heard many say. The money raised, approximately £3,000, will go to Scouts, Guides and Youth Groups locally.
The Kibworth.guides organised and sold food at the barbecue which raised £600 for their funds. The Kibworth School were selling “glow sticks” which always go down well with the children.
Thanks to local firms who supplied wood for the bonfire and all those who helped put on the event. Special thanks to David Briggs who lets us use the field, without his help there would be no event.
Over the years that Kibworth & Fleckney Rotary club have held this event it has become a really good community get together and we hope to see lots more people there again next year.
