Scouts’ Lockdown Fun at Foxton
Beavers, Cubs and Scouts have continued to run but this has been by email, on Facebook, by WhatsApp and Zoom.
The children have been able to take part in weekly activities. All the Beavers, cubs and scouts had the option of a delivery of a growbag plus lettuce seeds, and have all been very successful at growing lettuce at home.
We’ve had a ‘virtual camp’ where the children set up camps in their garden or in their house and we then met via Zoom, sang songs and played bingo together. 38 children took part and as you can imagine it was chaos but definitely fun.
We have also had a photographic competition for the cubs and some suggestions of plants they can forage and eat on their daily walks. We also had more weekly events planned such as a poetry competition and cake baking for VE Day.
It is very sad that our district camp was cancelled but we are hoping our meetings will resume before the summer is over.
