A Tee-rific Time!
In an unusual year, Edmonds & Slatter Opticians were very pleased to have been able to hold their annual charity golf day this September in aid of local charity, The Bodie Hodges Foundation.
The charity was formed in 2012, to support families who have been bereaved of a child of any age and to promote organ donation. They do this in many ways including offering counselling services, memory bags and also have a Boathouse retreat for families and siblings to use.
The golf day was hosted by Mr Saagar Hirani, partner and Optometrist at Edmonds & Slatter Opticians (they have a branch in Kibworth) and was adapted to meet all current COVID-19 safety requirements.
The day started off with socially distanced bacon cobs and coffee before the fundraising commenced.
From the first tee-off golfers were being ‘fined’ for a number of things with all ‘fines’ going towards the charity.
There were also two competitions running during the day for ‘Longest Drive’ and ‘Closest to the pin’. A raffle for prizes including sunglasses, a signed LCCC shirt and Prosecco was conducted and the ‘fines’ built up on the golf course were collected.
The event, as usual, was thoroughly enjoyed by all the golfers and for the unpredictability of 2020 the day’s weather was incredibly hot and sunny!
A total of £520.75 was raised by the golfers for Edmonds & Slatter’s chosen charity – The Bodie Hodges Foundation.
