Kibworth Cricket Club.
As with everything at the moment, we here at Kibworth Cricket Club, are in a stop situation but fully hope our followers and members are all healthy and well.
An April Start?
We are hopeful the cricket will be able to start at the end of April as planned. We will be able to offer traning, coaching and a facility for all to visit in some capacity at that stage. The senior and junior leagues are keeping up to date with the changes and ad apting plans for a full season accordingly.
A new initiative.
In the meantime the club are launching a new initiative to support members with advice and guidance relating to careers. This will be a service offered to all our club members. Hopefully we will also be able support others in the community with this initiative.
Steve Pollard’s 100 mile walk.
Lacie, the grand-daughter of our groundsman Steve Pollard, has recently been diagnosed with having a Wilms Tumour in one of her kidneys. This has affected her bone marrow and caused spots on her lungs. The tumour itself is quite large. Itha s grown into her tummy as well as wrapping itself around her spine. Thankfully this is all treatable!!!
After a short stay in hospital, as well as having her first course of Chemotherapy, Lacie has now been released home. Here she is still having treatment but is returning to hospital each week as a day case.
As a thank you to the fantastic hospital and staff at the Queens Medical Centre, Ward E39 Oncology Unit, Steve will be trying to raise some much needed and deserved funds. He is doing this by walking 100 miles over 5 days, along the roads of Northamptonshire and Leicestershire. As of yet, the route has not been finalised but he will be commencing his walk on Monday 15 February 2021. If you can and would like to donate something towards this cause in Lacie’s name, please click on the Justgiving link below.
