Len and Edna Bowden’s Diamond Wedding
My parents, Len and Edna Bowden, met in London when my mum was 15. Three years later on 28 October 1961, they got married in Hendon and settled into married life in Northamptonshire. My sister Angie and I were born there and then we moved to Kibworth in the mid-seventies.
Dad retired from BT at 55 and in 2001 they moved to their beloved Wales and settled in Llanfyllin to be nearer Angie and their only granddaughter Molly (Jones). Molly has worked for the post office for the nearly three years and her last but one day, before new adventures begin in Canada, saw her deliver a telegram from the Queen for their Diamond Wedding anniversary. Family and friends celebrated over the weekend and instead of gifts, raised money for the Wales Air Ambulance.
