A thank you from us!

Six months ago we launched The New Normal cancer support group, meeting every 3^rd Wednesday of the month at the Kibworth Cricket Club. We have been so pleased to see a new face each month, and to see the group growing. We would like to thank everyone who has attended just one of our meetings!

Over the past months, we have, like everyone, had the struggles of Covid. While we are aware that many people who would like to attend our meetings may feel very nervous, we hope that as things slowly improve, people will feel a little happier to attend. Masks and hand sanitiser will continue to be available at meetings.

The group is for anyone affected by cancer

Please remember that this group is not just for patients with cancer. It is for anyone who has been affected by cancer. For example, you may have a family member, or a friend going through treatment. You may have had cancer years ago and would like to offer support to others, or talk about difficulties you still have. You may have lost someone to cancer. Remember we are here for you all. Our hope is that the group will give you the support you need in a relaxed environment.

We would also like to thank everyone who has attended one of our evening sessions to give a little presentation. A variety of charities have told us about the wonderful work they do. We have been educated about scar therapy, and had a fun Christmas quiz! If you have something you could offer the group, please do let us know!

As a community group we are funded by donations, and are so grateful for the donations we have received, allowing us to pay for the hire of the Cricket Club until September. Thank you all so much!

Finally, we would also like to say, “Thank you,” to the staff at the Cricket Club who have been very accommodating to us.
