Kibworth Harcourt Windmill Update – March 2022
Much has happened since last month. The roofs of both the main body of the mill and the round house have been completed. This meant that the scaffolding could be removed. The next stage is to fit the new sails, which is in progress as I write this update and will be completed by the end of this week. Only some finishing work is required on the outside.
The millwrights will start to work on the interior of the building when the outside work is finished. As is always the case when restoring old buildings, one never knows what may delay things until you start work. Let’s hope no unexpected problems arise.
