AGM at Kibworth Grammar School Hall
It’s been a difficult year
KGSH held its AGM on the 16 March. The chairman, Martyn Wyburn reported on a difficult year for the hall, mostly due to the situation with Covid 19. This caused us to close for the first four months of 2021.
Rising costs
Since we re-opened, not all of our users have returned. The hall is not used quite as much as it was pre Covid. We also face a serious challenge, as many others do, with the rising cost of energy.
Dedicated staff
Thanks were given to our employees, Kelly, Alison and Eric for their hard work during the year. We are very lucky to have such dedicated staff.
Martyn also thanked Ryan Greer and Dave Birch who are stepping down as Trustees. Dave will be continuing to attend trustee meetings as minute secretary.
Re-elected trustees
The re-election of Martyn as chair of the trustees is much appreciated. Paul Scourfiled, Joan Fillingham, Ed Burgess, Pat Malpass and Lynne Williams were all re-elected as trustees. Caroline Pitcher, David Brierley and Mandi Bland will continue as parish council representatives.
Treasurer and Secretary needed
We continue to seek out volunteers who will take on the positions of Treasurer and Secretary. And would be very pleased to hear from anyone who might be interested in these roles. We can co-opt anyone who is suitable. Please contact Martyn on 0116 2796389.
Working with the library
For the coming year work will continue to amalgamate the hall with the library. We continue to develop the concept of the Kibworth Community Hub, whilst looking to attract more users to the hall.
Hire the hall for your party!
If anyone would like to speak to us about hiring the hall, for a class, a party or other one-off event then Kelly, our premises officer, would be delighted to hear from you on 0116 2796389.
We offer very competitive rates and excellent amenities, including a well-equipped kitchen and audio-visual facilities.
