Who would have imagined that Fleckney would become the new epicentre of the dramatic arts?
Straight off the back of two successful productions of TV favourites by other local groups in the village and surrounding areas, Ensemble Theatre Company are preparing to welcome audiences to their production of Noel Coward’s classic farce, ‘Blithe Spirit’.
For those who aren’t aware of the play, it is set in the 1940s and centres around an unwitting upper class author, Charles Condamine, his wife Ruth and their dinner guests. The evening’s entertainment is a séance conducted by Madam Arcati and leads to some unwelcome guests, marital discord and a beautiful sense of karma.
Considered one of Coward’s finest plays, the show has been revived on Broadway and the West End alike, as well as seeing various television adaptations and the 2021 film of the same name, featuring Dame Judi Dench, Isla Fisher and Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey).
The show is directed by Dan & Suzy Neal and their more than resourceful production team. The uber talented cast is made up of old and new members and is looking set to move you like an elemental, whilst causing mayhem like a poltergeist and creating belly laughs in your base chakra!
Tickets are available now via our online ticket portal at www.ensembletc.com and cost just £8.50 each. Shows are Friday 24 and Saturday 25 June at Fleckney Village Hall, so book now before we haunt you in perpetuity!
This amateur production of ‘Blithe Spirit’ is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatrical Ltd. on behalf of Samuel French Ltd. www.concordtheatricals.co.uk
