Autumn Term
It’s been a busy Autumn half term for Kibworth Mead Academy. All year groups have risen to the challenge of our high expectations of working hard, being kind and being proud.
Collectively & impressively, in the first half term over 48,000 reward points were issued and over 28,000 pieces of homework were handed in on time.
Music Mark
The Performing Arts Faculty are extremely proud to have been nominated by Leicestershire Shared Music Services to be recognised as a Music Mark School.
The Music Mark certificate is ‘in recognition of a commitment to providing high-quality music education for all children and young people’. This is a nationally recognised award for schools and education providers and recognises Kibworth Mead Academy as leaders in music education.
Kibworth’s Got Talent
In October we held a ‘Kibworth’s Got Talent’ showcase. Students performed a variety of solo and ensemble musical numbers and self- devised drama sketches. It was especially brilliant that at least ten of these students had never performed in front of an audience before. Many more had never performed a solo.
‘There really is a huge amount of talent there and it’s great that students are being given the opportunity to perform. My son only started learning drums earlier this year and to see him perform with the band was amazing, very proud parents!’
School of Rock Musical
The next big project for the Performing Arts team will be putting on our first ever school musical: School of Rock. To put on a musical of this magnitude will involve a large cross section of the Kibworth Mead community. They will be working together in a variety of roles, both backstage and front of house.
The performance will be held in Kibworth Grammar School Hall in April 2023. Tickets will be available for our local community to attend, look out further details.
Christmas Concert
