Kibworth Theatre Co. and Main Street Theatre Co. – November 2022
After much debate and research, we are pleased to announce that our next production will be A Bunch of Amateurs by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman.
This is an entertaining and uplifting comedy about an amateur drama group that is under threat of closure due to lack of money. In a last throw of the dice, they manage to engage a former Hollywood action hero to play King Lear. The only trouble is, he thinks that he is joining the Royal Shakespeare Company rather than an am-dram group. Somehow the egotistical Jefferson Steel and the local thespians have to find a way to work together.
We have no doubt that our audiences will love this production, which will be directed by Alison Langrick and takes to the stage 30/31 March and 1 April.
The two groups are also looking into the possibility of staging a murder mystery in the next few months, so watch this space.
